Kate Williams - Visiting Poet leads learning in Year One and Two - Thu 25 Feb 2016

Up and down the country, schools are planning writing sessions with poets and authors to celebrate World Book Day.

‘Daylight is returning, spring bulbs are stirring and poetry is in the air!’ It’s in the classrooms too, and last week it was buzzing around the Year One and Year Two corridors when poet Kate Williams inspired learners to write poems linked to our ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ theme.

Woodpecker learners enjoyed pretending to be dragons. ‘I learnt that poems don’t have to rhyme’ shared Joe Hopkins

Kate Williams is a children’s poet and workshop leader for schools. She has published 150 poems for children to date. Take a look at www.poemsforfun.wordpress.com to find out more about her work.
